Job Description

Our client is a long established, award-winning Housing Association that plans, develops and manages a diverse variety of integrated housing schemes across the region to meet the needs of the widest range of users. It now seeks to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation to develop and deliver the Associations vision, values and goals. Reporting to the Board, key responsibilities of the CEO will focus on: The overall leadership and management of the Association, propelling it to achieve its strategic goals. Developing and proposing strategies for endorsement and ensuring delivery of approved policies. Progressing an improvement programme to ensure the Association can fully tackle forthcoming opportunities and challenges. Cultivating a positive culture of organisational excellence in equality, performance, quality of services, financial and organisational viability along with developing all necessary legal, governance and best practice standards. To be successful candidates will have minimum of five years experience in a senior management position, either operating as CEO or reporting directly to the CEO, within a medium sized organisation preferably within not-for-profit organisations, or the public sector and be able to demonstrate: Experience in successfully managing a multi-disciplinary team and driving organisational change. In-depth understanding of housing policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks in the context of social and affordable housing. Familiarity with models of social housing finance, development, and asset management. Experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, funders, and residents. A track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders. An excellent academic background preferably with appropriate professional qualification. The ability to develop and implement a strategic vision that aligns with the housing association's mission and objectives. Strong analytical skills to assess complex challenges and devise innovative solutions. Solid understanding of financial management principles, budget preparation, and resource allocation in a housing context. Experience in fundraising, business development, and securing funding from various sources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, including staff, residents, and board members. Proven skills in public speaking and presentation. Strong decision-making abilities with a focus on data-driven approaches and stakeholder feedback.
