MI Analyst

At Pearson Carter, we are currently working with a UK-wide, Energy provider and saver based in the Nottinghamshire area who is looking for an MI/BI Analyst to come in house. In this role you will work closely with the Operations Manager and in-house teams to to identify areas of improvement and areas to exceed. They have a great working culture and environment and are looking for someone who isn't afraid to share their opinion as you will be responsible for any BI work being done.

This role does require an initial 5 days onsite for a 1-2 month time frame to understand business process but following this initial period, we it will go to a hybrid working modal that can drop as far as 2 days a week in office in Worksop

Responsibilities

- Development of financial models to assist management in decision making and reporting.

- Responsible for the ongoing business performance forecasting cycle.

- Investigation of modelling and forecast assumptions to improve output accuracy.

- Development and maintenance of the company’s reporting capability, including the building of data architecture.

- Preparation of financial and non-financial analyses.

- Analyse and report on key performance indicators.

- Assist with the development and improvement of business systems.

- Production of reports from business systems using Power BI to deliver meaningful insights into business performance.

- Identify gaps in our data collection processes and deliver requirements for change to.

- Become a champion/master user on the various tools and software we use to collect and store our data, including and not limited to:

- SQL

- Excel

- Power BI

- Microsoft Dynamics

- Assist colleagues in using the reports and tools that have been developed as part of the roll out process.

- Other Ad Hoc responsibilities will be given as the role evolves.

- ETL Processes Understanding: Basic knowledge of how to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.

- Bachelor's degree (or Equivalent) in a related field: Data science, business analytics, economics mathematics or similar fields.

Essential

- Experience using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query

- Good knowledge of MO suite especially MS Excel

- Fundamental understanding of database language (TSQL)
