General Manager, Freight Forwarding

We are partnering with a Freight Forwarding organisation seeking a General Manager to join their team in Essex.

You will be responsible for managing the branch, sales and development of the business.

Responsibilities;

• Reporting directly to the Group Chairman
• Oversee import and export operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of legal, financial, and invoicing tasks.
• Create, maintain, and enforce SOPs for the department, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Communicate and report internal leads to sales and customer service teams
• Manage staff and oversee day to day operations
• Responsible for assisting the company growth and expanding commercial activities
• Oversee sales activities
• Provide training, supervision and maintain staff records
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Oversee the general day to day running of the Essex branch

Skills Required;

• International freight forwarding experience
• Experience working within a sales and development position
• Excellent negotiation skills working with Shipping Lines and Roadfreight organisations
• Excellent leadership skills
• Proven experience in leading and managing teams
• Excellent understanding of import/export operations
• Exceptional communication skills
