Job Description

Due to the expansion of the in house design consultancy team, we are seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join the business to be based out of the Watford office.


The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering design, eager to tackle complex challenges, and driven to contribute to the success of our diverse projects.


As a Design Engineer you will play a key role in the design and implementation of engineering solutions across various projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.


Duties Include:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs and drawings using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to develop and refine project specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to ensure project viability and compliance with regulations.
  • Review and validate design calculations, technical reports, and other project documentation.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and inspections.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall project planning and coordination.
  • Identify and address potential design risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and innovations.


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the construction or civil engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other engineering design tools.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
