Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Shipment Coordination
- Coordinate all aspects of ocean import/export shipments, from booking to delivery.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and other relevant parties to ensure efficient and compliant shipments.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Rate Negotiation
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with shipping lines to optimize costs.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Logistics Management
- Manage the entire logistics process, including cargo consolidation, warehousing, and transportation.
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to clients.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on industry changes and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in ocean import/export coordination, preferably with a focus on deep-sea shipments.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., SAP, customs clearance software).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
