Java Developer (Oracle DBMS)

The position involves working with Java/JEE, Oracle DBMS, and other related technologies to support and maintain applications within the Client's portfolio.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Java developer with Oracle DBMS expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience in full-stack development, database design, and working with modern software development tools.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another IT major, or equivalent work experience.

Required Tasks:

• Maintenance, enhancement, and support of agency applications.
• Documentation of program requirements and specifications.
• Researching and documenting user requirements.
• Writing, translating, and coding software applications.
• Developing and maintaining user manuals.
• Collaborating with network administrators, systems analysts, and engineers to resolve software issues.
• Mentoring junior programmers.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• 7+ years of Java application development experience, with frameworks like Struts/Tiles, Struts 2, Servlets/JSP, and JPA/Hibernate.
• 5+ years of Oracle DB experience, including complex queries and PL/SQL database objects.
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, NodeJS, React, or JQuery.
• Full-stack development experience (3+ years).
• Experience with responsive design frameworks (preferably Bootstrap).
• Familiarity with code repositories (preferably Git) and continuous integration tools (preferably Jenkins).
• Knowledge of relational database design and object-oriented design methodologies.
• Experience with database query tools like TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Navigator.
• Understanding of database security, role-based security, and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Preferred KSAs:

• Oracle certification(s).
• Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
• Familiarity with Docker or other virtualization technologies.
• Experience with GIS applications.
• Experience developing RESTful web services.
• Knowledge of environmental regulatory processes and client’s technical environment.
