Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Payroll Accountant in the location of Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Payroll Accountant, you will primarily be tasked with the processing of payroll taxes across multiple states. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the industry of finance and accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Processing and managing payroll taxes for multiple states efficiently.
• Utilizing software such as Workday and ADP smart compliance for various tasks.
• Handling payroll tax deposits and ensuring they are accurately recorded.
• Preparing and submitting payroll tax returns in a timely manner.
• Conducting regular payroll tax reporting and maintaining records.
• Resolving customer inquiries related to payroll taxes.
• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Ensuring compliance with local payroll tax regulations.
• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations.
• Continually updating skills and knowledge in areas like ADP - Payroll and Workday.• Proficiency in Local Payroll Tax management and regulations
• Experience in handling Payroll Tax Deposits
• Knowledge of Payroll Tax Reporting and how to effectively carry out the process
• Familiarity with the preparation and filing of Payroll Tax Returns
• Solid understanding of Payroll Taxes and their application in an organizational setting
• Proficiency in using Workday for payroll processing and related tasks
• Experience in using ADP - Payroll system to manage and process payroll
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
• Strong numerical and computational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
