ABOUT THIS POSITION
As a Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst within the Production Support Team, you will have an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and constantly evolving environment. As part of the day-to-day work, you will triage, troubleshoot and resolve production issues as required, whilst closely monitoring the production applications. Additionally, you are encouraged to challenge our current processes in place and further improve and automate them. The main objective of this team is to ensure that the investment application systems operate smoothly and efficiently both from the front-end application perspective as well as batch and data feed perspective. Since our systems are used across the globe, we utilize a follow the sun model that requires global interaction and may require out of hours work as well as core hours coverage
ROLE SUMMARY/JOB Responsibilities
- Coordinates across support teams to quickly resolve disruptions to technology services, through functional triage, performing root cause analysis, and taking preventative measures
- Responsible for swiftly resolving disruptions to technology services to minimize user impacts and maintain service levels
- Capable of dissecting a problem into manageable parts
- Ensures incidents impacting technology availability are resolved within policy standards
- Evaluates and acts on the production readiness for technology solution implementations and application deployments
- Analyzes performance trends and crafts action plans to address potential impacts prior to impacts occurring
- Demonstrates root cause analysis skills for investigation of incidents impacting technology availability
- Accountable for your own work and effective coordination of process and information with others
- Works within guidelines and policies for ongoing work; may receive general mentoring on new assignments
- Proactively helps team members and makes suggestions to improve practices
- Proactively looks for automation opportunities
- Help shape new technology standards with bringing on new fresh ideas
- Works with team to provide details to management and key external partners on broad-ranging projects, tasks, and incidents
- May lead initiatives of varying degrees of complexity
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
- Possesses solid understanding of the tech and asset management industries and internal business units to enable navigation of key partners and understanding of impact
PREFERRED (OR ESSENTIAL) QUALIFICATIONS
- Typically has 3+ years of relevant experience
- Application Support, working in a technical environment and solving technical issues related to applications/ batch processing, servers, database connectivity, etc.
- Experience working with Ticketing systems like ServiceNow and/or JIRA
- Working experience with a programming language and/or scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Perl, Shell, Bash, Java, Javascript) is preferred
- Experience writing SQL queries is preferred
- Experience running commands in Unix/Linux consoles & Windows Servers is preferred
- Is adaptable and able to learn quickly
- Shows ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills, as well as, verbal and written communication skills
- Working and conceptual knowledge of various technical domains (ServiceNow, AWS, Splunk) required
- Basic knowledge of Automated Scheduler (e.g. Autosys) and batch support required
- Working experience of Informatica
- Basic understanding of Disaster recovery preferred
- Experience with logging tools like Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Experience supporting and using APIs
- Understanding of cloud security concepts, certificate management, secrets management, encryption key management, identity access management (IAM) preferred
- Understanding of modern deployment and code management with platforms like GitLab/GitHub and CI/CD concepts preferred
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the broader technology portfolio including cloud technologies and support tools, job scheduling, scripting, proficient with databases including Oracle, Amazon Aurora, and SQL Server
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation to reduce manual and complex processes
- Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies
- Available for out of hours support
- Works across teams to review technology portfolio and make recommendations for procedures and practices
