Temporary Works Engineer/ Design Engineer
Our client is a global Engineering Design consultancy who deliver innovative professional temporary works design solutions

About the Position:
As a Temporary Works Engineer/ Design Engineer, you’ll have a key role in a dynamic team. You should have a minimum of 2 years experience in a design-focused position on UK construction projects and knowledge of temporary works and BS5975. These positions are based at our clients head office in Kent and offer an exciting career opportunity. You’ll have the chance to work on various projects and develop innovative engineering solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
Dive into a range of exciting projects, applying your expertise to diverse scenarios.
Create compelling designs and technical drawings, developing complex solutions making them easily understandable for clients.
Ensure flawless planning, design, and implementation of temporary works, embracing the latest software and tools.
Conduct site visits, and detailed surveys, and develop innovative solutions for ultimate safety.
Provide crucial technical support to colleagues, working independently on multiple projects even under tight deadlines.
Seize the opportunity to learn and grow by mastering new skills and staying updated with industry standards.
Champion safety by implementing a robust strategy in line with Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM2015).
Lead and coordinate tasks for junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Essential Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
An engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally working towards Chartered Status with the ICE or IStructE.
Excellent math and general numeracy skills.
Excellent 2D AutoCAD skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering plans, section details, and general arrangements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Advanced IT skills.
Desirable Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
* Proven supervising and mentoring skills.
* 3D draughting/modelling knowledge.
* Experience in permanent works Civil or Structural Engineering is a plus.
