Estimator - Construction
Our Client is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Team in the Kent area. They are leading Contractors within the social housing regeneration sector and are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join an already busy office needing to expand their department to help with the demands of the business.
This office is based on an industrial estate so your own transport is essential as it is about a 30 minute walk from the station.
Estimator Role
• Prepare estimates for specified responses to PQQs, ITTs, pitches and proposals in conjunction with marketing and business development manager.
• Hand over budgets to commercial / QS department for take on.
Estimator Responsibilities
• Creation, management and monitoring of budgets for tenders, pitches and proposals
• Hand over of information to commercial department and maintenance of information on Project Probe.
Estimator Key Tasks
• Compiling assigned compliant and competitive tenders, within deadlines.
• Pre-handover budget compiling and guided value engineering.
• Post-handover budget inputting
• Ensure all assigned opportunities and tenders are tracked and chased and results noted, including conversion to next stage, or closure.
• Update subcontractor, supplier and client information on Project Probe, as necessary.
• Attend estimating meetings as required.
• Attend assigned handover meetings and ensure all information is agreed and recorded.
• Continue liaison with commercial and contracts departments as required.
• Liaise with procurement, ordering and finance for pricing and costs of labour and materials. Liaise with materials suppliers and sub-contractors as required.
• Liaise with clients and prospects as required
Estimator Competencies
•Programme and project management – manage production of initial programme for handover to contracts. General IT:
• Advanced user MS Excel.
• Competent user MS Word, MS Project, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars
• Have a confident, ambitious manner and able to liaise with clients professionally.
• Able to apply attention to detail and desire to provide high quality work
• A willingness to learn and work constructively within a team
• Good attitude
• Demonstrate good IT skills
• Cladding experience is beneficial
• Construction experience is beneficial
• 2+ years experience as an Estimator
Estimator Salary
30-40k plus pension 33 days holiday healthcare
