ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

The ML & Azure Architect is a pivotal role focused on shaping the technical landscape of products designed within a portfolio, focusing on Azure architecture, big data, and machine learning. This role is essential for collaborating with technical owners across product teams to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and deliver innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of the transport industry.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Big Data & Machine Learning Support: Assist in the design and implementation of big data pipelines and machine learning models within the Azure ecosystem, working closely with senior architects and product teams.

• Portfolio-Level Tech Support: Collaborate with the CTO and product team technical owners to support the technical strategy for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with operational goals.

• Technical Documentation: Assist in the development of technical documentation at the portfolio level, focusing on detailed product/service interaction overviews and data flows.

• Design Decision Support: Provide input on design decisions at the Software Design Authority (SDA), ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices.

• Change Assessment: Evaluate technical aspects of changes within the portfolio, focusing on optimizing products for efficiency.

• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with product teams to support product-level design decisions, technical design documents, and management of technical debt.

• Security and Compliance: Contribute to product-level threat modeling and security workbooks, ensuring security measures are implemented effectively.

• Capability Modeling: Support capability modeling initiatives within the portfolio, working with cross-functional teams to enhance products.

• Consulting Support: Provide technical assistance to consulting architects during customer engagements.

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

• Azure Expertise: Experience in architecting solutions using Microsoft Azure, with a focus on big data and machine learning services such as Azure Databricks and Azure Machine Learning.

• Big Data and Machine Learning: Knowledge of big data architectures and machine learning models, particularly within the Azure ecosystem.

• Cloud and Container Skills: Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, especially Microsoft Azure, and container-based architectures like Kubernetes.

• Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate technical concepts effectively.

• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to articulate technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaboration Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with product teams, business stakeholders, and technical delivery teams.
