Quality Manager
Salary – circa £50k to 55k pa + annual performance bonus of 10% based on group/division/personal
West Yorkshire – site based
Monday to Friday (flexible hours to suit business needs)
Purpose of Role:
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the successful Quality Manager will be the voice of quality throughout our organisation, ensuring we provide the exceptional service our customers deserve. You will lead continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and champion change management processes. Be a leader, not a follower, and drive our commitment to quality.
Principal Responsibilities but not limited to:
ISO 9001 Enhance existing QMS and update as required.
Train all relevant stakeholders on quality systems and associated SOPs.
Manage internal, external, customer, and group audits.
Implement corrective action plans to maintain system compliance.
Champion the change management process.
Customer Focus:
Address all customer complaints with comprehensive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Translate customer requirements and specifications into internal workflows.
Ensure new process development aligns with customer approvals.
Demonstrate understanding of the relationships between products, processes, and customer applications.
General Responsibilities:
Prioritise employee safety as a core value.
Engage in frequent dialogues on the shop floor to address quality issues directly.
Provide systems to ensure departmental targets are exceeded.
Operate within the budget for systems development and propose future requirements as needed.
Key Skills and Experience:
Experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
Proven background in quality management, ideally within an engineering context.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong time management skills.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and experience in writing reports.
Ability to interact with people at all levels.
Ability to recognise training needs and recommend development strategies.
Strong background in continuous improvement, preferably Green Belt certified with successful project management experience.
Ability to manage the quality department to exceed KPIs and expected departmental performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lead Auditor certification.
Lean management background.
Quality processes expertise.
Metallurgical background is a bonus, with training provided if necessary.
