For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $136,000 - $204,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Sustainability Solutions Manager acts as our customers’ technical sustainability partner, representing Schneider’s expertise in digital infrastructure sustainability, and offering advice and collaboration as a value-add to doing business with us. They also develop related toolkits and training to scale sustainability impact across our sales teams.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the sustainability strategy for select named accounts, ensuring tight interlock with the overall account leadership and strategy. Develop relationships with the customer to establish Schneider as an indispensable partner on sustainability topics.
- Enhance the sustainability value of Schneider solutions by developing new strategies for solving customer challenges.
- Create and maintain assets (e.g., playbooks, toolkits, etc.) to enable all sales teams to engage their accounts on sustainability, and conduct training as needed. Leverage voice-of-customer to evolve approach strategies and related assets.
- Support commercial teams in addressing complex customer inquiries related to the environmental performance of our solutions.
- Lead participation in strategic industry organizations (as needed), to demonstrate Schneider’s sustainability expertise, develop relationships with customers, and influence standards development.
Key skills
- Customer centric – ability to listen to a customer challenge and engage the full breath of SE’s portfolio to solve it
- Strong knowledge of the environmental impacts of digital infrastructure, including efficiency, GHG emissions, water, and/or circularity.
- Strong leadership, excellent communication, and proven influencing skills to drive change and innovation in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Rigorous and scientific spirit, attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills – capable of presenting in conferences, webinars, and customer meetings. English fluency is required.
Preferred Professional experience:
- 4+ years’ experience in the data center industry. Valuable areas of experience include data center design and engineering, operations, and power & cooling systems.
- Experience with implementing solutions that advance sustainability across the data center lifecycle (design, build, operate, and/or maintain). Valuable areas of experience include renewable energy procurement, onsite energy solutions/microgrids, embodied carbon analysis, data center equipment efficiency, software monitoring and controls, and sustainability strategy / goal setting / reporting.
- Experience in client development /account management
- Strong knowledge on life cycle assessment methods and standards. Experience with circular economy, ecodesign and/or climate science.
- Experience in environmental impact assessment during “design & build” phase of infrastructure (building and/or data center); experience in operational phase is a plus. Experience in tools development to support sustainable business strategies.
Education background
- Preference for degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
