Principal Electrical Engineer – Mission Critical


£100,000+ (Total Package)


Central London (Hybrid)


A global leader in the world of engineering is looking to expand their Mission Critical team in London. As a result, a rare opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive experience within the Data Centre/Mission Critical sector has arisen to join this ever-expanding business.


The Role


As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Provide guidance to clients on electrical systems and requirements, ensuring they align with their needs and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Develop electrical systems and equipment tailored to client specifications.
  • Contribute to establishing design criteria for mechanical systems, including air and water components, in building projects.
  • Conduct peer reviews of electrical designs and equipment specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in project execution.
  • Engage directly with clients to discuss and finalise their requirements.
  • Attend meetings and confidently lead presentations.
  • Oversee project costs, ensuring they remain within fee budgets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines.


The Candidate


The successful Principal Electrical Engineer will need:

  • Minimum 11 years industry experience with excellent knowledge of the Mission Critical/Data Centre industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or architecture (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of electrical design principles.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience at concept design level to assist with the development of data centre masterplans.
  • Knowledge of European Standards.
