We have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Politics, Engagement and Planning team as an Account Manager.

Account Managers at LCA are considered the ‘engine room’ of accounts. You will be a fundamental part of the team working on some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile development projects.
About this role
- You will be responsible for day-to-day contact with clients in order to drive a number of different workstreams associated with managing consultation and engagement
- You’ll oversee and work closely with Account Executives / Senior Account Executives, play an active role in meetings, and devise and implement communications plans for projects
- You will play a key role in meetings with clients, leading on particular issues where appropriate, and be a main point of contact for clients and help the account team to develop strong relationships
- You will be ambassadors for clients and LCA at consultation events such as exhibitions, workshops, virtual webinars including at evenings and weekends
- You will take an active role in bringing in new business, including developing commercial skills, attending pitches and networking to develop your own contacts amongst associates and clients
- You’ll be required to develop your media handling skills, including selling in stories around key milestones in the planning programme and managing media enquiries
- You’ll become the political guru for a London Borough including monitoring political moves and reporting on major developments to the senior agency team and clients
About yourself
- You must have at least three years’ experience in the communications and PR industry – either agency or in-house – with a track record in managing stakeholder engagement or working on public consultation campaigns
- Managerial experience of at least one year, the ability to motivate and develop direct reports
- You must have excellent writing skills and be familiar with writing in variety of styles and for different audiences e.g. preparing press releases, key message documents, new business proposals, or media/stakeholder briefings
- You should have client management skills, the ability to solve problems, juggle multiple priorities and have good time management
- Experience running public consultations – in person and digitally, including all the logistics involved
- Ideally you will have some knowledge and experience of working in the built environment sector
- Ideally you will have a growing network across the built environment sector including with clients, associates, London councillors, MPs and journalists
- An understanding of London, and the way in which it operates - with an appreciation of local communities' dynamics, as well as politics
- A hands on approach to work with a good sense of humour
- Excellent IT and presentation skills, confidence using Word and PowerPoint is a must
