Contracts Manager
Toro Recruitment is seeking a Contracts Manager to represent an Independent Connection Provider in London as part of our client's Senior Management Team expansion. Our client aims to augment their Senior Management Team and seeks candidates with extensive Contracts Management experience who aspire to advance their careers within the Power Distribution sector.
The Contracts Manager is responsible for ensuring that all operational functions adhere to company policies, procedures, and contractual requirements. This role involves direct management of a team comprising Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and HV Electrical Designers/Design Managers.
We are interested in candidates with ICP/NERS experience who have managed electrical projects up to 33kV. These projects, ranging from £500k to £20m, primarily focus on Renewable Energy and Industrial and Commercial new developments across the south.
Responsibilities for the Contracts Manager will include:
- Providing operational support for bids and contracts, ensuring robust pricing, risk management, and governance.
- Managing all activities associated with ICP infrastructure projects in line with NERS accreditation.
- Monitoring and managing staff and subcontractors to uphold Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
- Ensuring adherence to company and client processes to minimize Work in Progress and meet business targets.
- Engaging in monthly cost and value reconciliation to optimize project finances.
- Maximizing revenue and profit by identifying cost-saving opportunities and additional chargeable activities.
- Negotiating effectively internally and externally up to the Director level.
- Providing operational support in subcontractor and supplier procurement.
The Requirements are:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the Power Distribution sector.
- Experience managing electrical projects up to 11kV or 33kV.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, NERS accreditation, and Distribution Network Operator policies and standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to manage project budgets and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in contract administration (e.g., NEC, JCT suite of contracts).
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and environmental regulations.
- Experience in supporting the commercial team with monthly cost and value reconciliations.
What this position offers:
- Office based x4 with x1 day WHF
- Competitive salary: £75,000-£85,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.
