A leading commodities trading firm are searching for anexperiencedWindows/Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. As Principal a you will sit as the managers number two and as a result will be expected to proactively offer suggestions for strategic change and improvements, support the manager with his duties, and have the ability to autonomously deliver major projects. Much of your work with focus on Windows Server and VMware and as a result you will be expected to have strongexperienceacross both. The team are currently working on a number of projects that you will get a chance to work on. This includes the following:

• Data Centre move planning, investigation, and execution (Will be heavily involved in this)
• Moving DR management in-house
• Migrating more of their estate to Azure
• Increasing Linux estate
• Starting to do a lot of work with Kubernetes and Docker, much more to come

Currently only 2/3 applications are hosted in AKS containers so there is still a lot of work to do in this. They have built out some Kubernetes clusters on premises, but none are in production. This role offers a great opportunity for someone upskill in Kubernetes and Linux as neither are a pre-requisite yet there will be regular chances to work with both.

Requirements:

• Windows Server
• VMware
• Strong Scripting and automation (any language, more the mindset they are after)
• Demonstratedexperiencemanaging/driving major projects independently
• Good seniority for a principal Autonomy to deliver projects, come with own ideas/suggestions, lead exposure is useful
• Cloudexperience, significant preference for Azure
• Active Directory
• Strong storageexperience, preferably Pure
• Any industry
• Bonus: Kubernetes, Brokade, Linux, Docker, Citrix, Networking (Paolo Alto, Cisco)
• Background: Windows/Infra/Server Engineer with 10+ years xp. Platform/Devops Engineer would be great but need to be happy doing work like going to datacentres to replace hardware.
