JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATION: Job Title: Regulatory Data Business Analyst Employment Type: 3 Months Contract, Onsite (Renewable) Work Location: Johannesburg, Sandton JOB CONTEXT: The Regulatory Data Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Markets business area by enhancing and maintaining regulatory and compliance processes for Regulatory Reporting. This position involves documenting, creating, and managing requirements and specifications for collecting data from various source systems, ensuring it is formatted to meet specific regulatory requirements, and populating regulatory reports accurately. The ideal candidate will possess experience in Financial Markets, particularly in trading, along with strong analytical skills and a functional understanding of Global Markets regulatory reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can navigate complex regulatory landscapes and contribute to the integrity and efficiency of reporting processes. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement a data quality process to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within Global Markets for Regulatory Reporting. Establish data quality metrics and monitoring mechanisms to continuously assess and improve data quality. Ensure data governance for regulatory data, including data attestation and data lineage, to ensure the integrity, security, and usability of data used for Regulatory Reporting within Global Markets. Accountability for creating specifications for data products/assets that enable regulations Support the Global Markets data portfolio to ensure alignment with CIB data strategy, business objectives, and enterprise data governance. Ensure compliance with data legislations and regulations applicable to South Africa and other African countries where Global Markets operates. BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 3 years of experience in Investment Banking / Capital Markets IT and Data domain. 3-5 years experience in a business analysis role working on projects related to Regulatory Reporting and data. MANDATORY SKILLS: Technical enough to understand the SDLC and trading systems and define specifications Good understanding of asset classes such as Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, commodities, Interest Rates, Collateral, high level is all derivatives and non-derivative products and their product lifecycle. Working experience on FMA, EMIR, Dodd Frank, CFTC and other relevant Markets Regulatory Reporting requirements. Strong Business Analysis skills to oversee regulatory reporting projects from inception to completion. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to effectively communicate with various departments and external regulatory bodies. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in regulatory reports and data submissions. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory policies and guidelines to business processes. Strong knowledge of regulatory and risk reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with data governance best practices and tools, as well as experience with Front Arena application as a primary system. Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service. Ability to conduct thorough research on regulatory requirements and stay updated with changes in regulations. DESIRED SKILLS: Data governance best practices and tools ; Regulatory and risk reporting. PACKAGE & REMUNERATION: Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable banking experience and previous earnings.
