Job Description

Technical Support Specialist (Hybrid - Cape Town) Our client is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join their team in a hybrid capacity , with a requirement to work at least two days in the office . This role focuses on providing advanced, comprehensive technical support, particularly with strong API troubleshooting expertise, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The position offers a salary of R33,000 per month , with working hours from 9am to 6pm . Job Summary: As a Technical Support Specialist, you will handle both L1 and L2 responsibilities, with a primary focus on troubleshooting complex API queries and delivering advanced technical support. Your goal will be to ensure smooth operations for the client's customers by diagnosing and solving technical problems, collaborating with engineering teams, and enhancing the product. This hybrid role requires at least two days a week in the Cape Town office, while the remaining days can be remote. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive L2 technical support , particularly for troubleshooting API-related issues . Analyse and troubleshoot complex technical problems using advanced diagnostic tools. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to resolve issues and enhance product performance. Create and update customer support documentation, including FAQs and troubleshooting guides. Ensure high customer satisfaction through empathetic communication and timely resolution of technical issues. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). 1-2 years of experience in technical support or a software engineering role, with a strong focus on API troubleshooting . Familiarity with Java/Kotlin, React code, APIs, and databases. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Skills: Essential : Expertise in troubleshooting APIs, strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in SaaS environments, including cloud hosting and API integration. Preferred : Experience with HTML, SQL, multi-language platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
