Position summary:


We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting operational cost efficiency and financial planning. You will be responsible for collecting and recording historical data for accurate future forecasting, managing a financial database, and preparing detailed financial reports.


Responsibilities:


  • Support efforts to optimise operational costs.
  • Collect and record historical financial data for accurate forecasting.
  • Create and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Manage and maintain financial records and statements in the database.
  • Produce initial balance sheet schedules.
  • Ensure accurate monthly reporting, including correct coding of transactions.
  • Prepare analytical financial reports for the Finance Manager.
  • Identify cost movements and perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested by the Finance Manager or the board.
  • Conduct variance analysis to monitor financial performance.


Key Skills:


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, interpret, and utilize historical data for forecasting and decision-making
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in producing balance sheet schedules
  • Experience in creating, preparing, and presenting detailed financial reports
  • Competence in managing and maintaining financial records and databases, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • High level of precision to ensure financial reports, coding, and balance sheets are accurate and in compliance with company policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly present financial findings and collaborate with management and other departments.
  • Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and reporting tools to efficiently prepare reports, manage databases, and conduct analysis.
