Job Description

How would you like to work for a global leader who specialises in Automotive solutions? This is a brilliant and unique opportunity for a motivated, Senior Simulation Engineer to join and become a key player in a rapidly expanding company.

The purpose of the job working in the simulation department is to evaluate and optimise the fuel injection system's design utilising simulation methods and real test data.


Location: Kent

Salary: up to £50,000 (dependent on Experience)


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Run suitable simulations to assist in the design, development, validation, and manufacture of diesel fuel injection system components, paying special attention to tribology and structural analysis.
  2. Collaborate closely with the Design and Development Engineers that make up the product team, monitoring the project and recommending design and testing strategies to the group based on simulation findings.
  3. Communicate with customer teams and other functional groups (validation, materials) to gather and exchange information to raise the precision and usefulness of simulation exercises.
  4. Provide the simulation manager with a report that details the procedures, presumptions, findings, and conclusions.
  5. Create and deliver work summaries both in-person and via conference calls to a wide range of audiences.
  6. Encourage the creation and application of fresh analysis methods to enhance product performance and simulation capabilities.
  7. Effectively plan work activities, assist with project planning, and finish work packages on schedule.
  8. To help with meeting setup and the creation of agendas and minutes.


Mandatory Skills

  1. Application of simulation methodology and fundamental physical principles to the design of Hydraulic components.
  2. Thorough knowledge of commercial simulation software like Ansys, AMESIM. GT Suite
  3. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering or business discipline.
  4. At least 5 years’ experience using above mentioned Simulation tools in an industrial setting.
  5. At least 5 years’ experience in analysis of high pressure Fuel Injection Systems and a detailed understanding of associated hydraulic components and advanced simulation methods applied to these.


Desirable

  1. A track record of mastering mechanical engineering and physics concepts.
  2. Knowledge of the concepts of metal fatigue and fluid dynamics.
  3. The capacity to research a topic and determine the best analysis methods (human computations, 1D/2D/3D, component testing).
  4. Being aware of how models work and the effects of the assumptions made.
  5. The capacity to be self-motivated and proactive while working in a team.
  6. A certain amount of familiarity with following analysis protocols.
