Senior Electrical Design Engineer

A market-leading chemical manufacturing organisation are currently looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

Working as part of a Central Engineering function this is a 100% home based position with regular UK/European travel to 11 manufacturing sites.

The opportunity involves generating complex electrical designs and calculations using Aveva Design and following up on site supporting commissioning activities.

Key tasks include:

• Designing and commissioning both LV and HV electrical systems:
• Earthing and Lightning Protection designs, Fault Studies & Protection Co-ordination, Design of systems, control circuits & relay control panels, and Cable Schedules,
• Producing design packages, maintaining existing processes and procedures, as well as scoping maintenance plans.
• Proactively planning and engaging with internal departments and external contractors and suppliers.
• Developing and managing an electrical integrity program across UK and EU sites.
• Aiding in ensuring that project delivery and both fault-finding and subsequent remedial actions are to required standards.

To be considered candidates will need to have previous electrical design experience within a relatable industry sector (e.g. nuclear, oil and gas, construction, heavy manufacturing) and in working on designing LV & HV systems. A formal technical qualification in electrical engineering is also required (ideally Degree level).

The position is based primarily from home (80%) with an element of travel (20%) Monday to Friday with a 37.5-hour week.

The salary range is £70,000 to £85,000 and the position comes with an 15 % annual bonus, 25 days holiday, defined pension scheme, income protection, and life insurance.
