Position Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team in delivering projects within both new-build and refurbishment sectors. The role involves working closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project delivery, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Tender and Contract Documentation: Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work, providing financial insight to support project decisions.
Feasibility Studies: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and conduct feasibility studies to ensure project viability.
Risk and Value Management: Perform risk and value management activities, ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Contractual Advice: Provide advice on contract forms and handle contractual claims in line with legal and company standards.
Subcontractor & Supplier Quotations: Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating the best value for the company.
Project Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is complete, up to date, and stored in an organized manner.
Pricing Model & Billing Procedures: Gain a strong understanding of the company's pricing model and assist in the preparation of invoices and billing for clients.
Key Requirements
Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within both new-build and refurbishment sectors.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, including the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost control.
Analytical Skills: Ability to undertake cost analysis, manage risks, and provide financial insight to support project success.
Communication: Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and the project team.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure the best value from subcontractors and suppliers.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in managing project documentation and financial data.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
