Computer Vision & AI Software Engineer - The Role:
⦁ Assess project requirements and design test plans for the perception component of the autonomous system.
⦁ Understand the perception approaches developed
⦁ Work within a team to develop state-of-the art perception features / functions
⦁ Able to work with vision and lidar data
⦁ Design test cases to assess the developed approaches for reliability, consistency, and accuracy.
⦁ Test, tune and help improve the perception component ensuring it meets the project requirements.
⦁ Analyse the results and if required refine/retune the models
⦁ Report test results, bugs, problems along with suggestions and observations to perception team for updates and changes
⦁ Work closely with team of engineers and researchers to ensure global goals are met.
Computer Vision & AI Software Engineer - The Person:
Essential:
⦁ Experience of computer vision, image/video processing and robotics applications.
⦁ Industrial experience of software development with C++ and Python
⦁ Proven experience working with modern deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, Pytorch, etc.) and modern neural network architectures.
⦁ Strong understanding of one or more of the following topics: 2D/3D object detection, classification, semantic segmentation, object tracking, depth estimation, point cloud processing, sensor fusion.
⦁ Experience with implementation and evaluation of public work and academic papers.
⦁ Familiarity with software engineering practices and tools such as Git, CI, Agile, etc.
⦁ Experience in object-oriented design and test-driven development.
⦁ Written communication and the ability to write reports
⦁ Time management, organization, and the ability to work to deadlines
⦁ A flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change
⦁ A driven, self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative.
Desirable:
⦁ Experience of using different sensors such as Lidar, Radar, and camera for tracking.
⦁ Good Knowledge of ROS
⦁ Experience with GPU and CUDA development
⦁ CMake
This is an office based role with an occasional early start to support commissioning teams in differeing time zones. This client has local Engineers therefore travel is minimal with this role. There will be the odd international trip for more specialised technical support or for exhibitions.
