Job Description
Atomic Talent hase an excellent opportunity with a highly sucessful organisation, facing into the Nuclear sector, who is looking to strengthen their Project Management and Planning capability through the role of Project Controller based at their offices in Lancashire. Utilising Primavera P6, the role will provide a support function to the Project Management and Manufacturing teams working on a wide portfolio of cutting edge nuclear construction and decommissioning projects.
The role will include the production Work Breakdown Structures, project estimating, data analysis and the reporting of project performance, including earned value, to project stakeholders.
The responsibilities
* Generate detailed project forecast cost estimates, WBS, and tracking tools to ensure projects are delivered within a robust project controls framework.
* Produce Project reports including EV, Estimate at Completions (EAC), burn rates, accruals deviations, progress against delivery milestones, procurement plans and risks.
* Carry out data analysis to identify root causes of deviations, escalating any deviations from plan; critical points and/or trends to the Project Manager, with proposed recovery steps.
* Analyse data to identify risks or opportunities, e.g. acceleration opportunities or cost efficiencies and advise the Senior Project Controls Representative and Project Manager to coincide with the overall project risk reviews.
* Track all changes or potential changes to the project baseline and subsequent underpinning of change control mechanisms.
* Update and validate the cost control and planning databases and ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders.
* Provide support risk reviews and apply risk measures if necessary.
* Provide support to more junior Project Controllers and assist with their professional development.
About you
* Experienced with Primavera P6
* You will have experience in the successful planning of complex technical projects.
* In-depth knowledge and experience of Earned Value Management (EVM) tools & techniques
* It’s likely that you will have worked across a number of projects simultaneously.
* Familiar with the Microsoft suite.
* Experienced contributing to project risk reviews.
* Knowledge of change control methodologies
The role is being positioned in advance of a team restructure. The ideal candidate will be looking to step up in to a senior position within 6 months.
Skills/Qualifications
Primavera P6
Association for Project Management Professional accreditation or similar recognised qualification
You may be required to obtain UK security clearance so will need to be eligible to do so.
