The role involves working within the Expenses/AP & Investigations area and using various systems such as SAP, Coupa P2P, and SAP Concur. The job holder is required to support the overall Finance team by conducting themselves in a professional manner, remaining highly proactive at all times with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities without a detrimental impact upon the team. The role would ideally suit someone who has confidence in their own ability, has strong analytical skills and enjoys problem solving. Over time the role may include cross-training across other areas of Finance Operations.
What will you be doing?
To support across a range of areas, including:
- Support Management with all aspects of our service delivery, with emphasis on quality, efficiency, and risk management.
- Be an expert on Finance policies and processes and act as a point of contact or escalation where needed.
- Identify and document key operational risks and controls for Finance processes and functions.
- Perform regular control assessments and testing to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Conduct routine reviews of spend to identify the potential risk of fraud and policy breaches using KPMG system tools.
- Report and escalate any control deficiencies, issues, or incidents to the relevant stakeholders and management.
- Coordinate and support the implementation of corrective actions and remediation plans to address control gaps and weaknesses.
- Conduct reconciliation activities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data and transactions across different systems and sources.
- Maintain and update the operational risk and control register, inventory, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on operational risk and control policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure all new and existing processes are adequately documented with control steps built in.
- Be a strong advocate for continuous improvement, driving and tracking smaller scale PI ideas.
What will you need to do it?
- Pro-active attitude.
- Familiar with a busy operations environment.
- Broadly familiar with Finance operational processes.
- Relevant experience in operational risk and control, audit, compliance, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operational risk and control frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Comfortable researching and investigating issues using own initiative.
- A role model for skills and behaviours to junior colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
