Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson is working with a well-known OEM to appoint a Project Proposal Manager Project to work as part of their offshore wind team, responsible for aligning the sales strategy and providing project management proposals for new opportunities.

As the company expand, this role will support the sales process by co-ordinating with internal stakeholders and clients to plan and deliver accurate and cost-effective results.

This is a full time, staff role based in London or Hamburg.

Role:

  • Ownership of the project management proposal in the sales phase.
  • Customer interface for project management proposal.
  • Coordination and liaison with other internal departments as part of the sales process including sales, solutions teams and project delivery team.
  • Ensure correct identification, assessment and quantification of all the potential R&O related to the scope.
  • Facilitate the correct handover to project execution team.
  • Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for sales projects with presentation to clients as required.
  • Working with relevant solutions teams and purchasing to prepare comprehensive proposals for sales projects including the execution strategy, transportation from factory to site and route assessment.
  • Lead the input to proposals relating to installation, testing and commissioning, interface management, balance of plant and tower solutions.
  • Manage contract reviews, approvals and relevant preparation of required tender documentation for the bid project schedule.
  • Monitoring and tracking competitiveness for project proposal scope.
  • Conduct cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement.
  • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of market changes.
  • Provide feedback to the company solutions department on cost saving initiatives.
  • Continuously support purchasing in the development and maintenance of relationships with suppliers
  • Ensure contracts and technical terms, with support from the legal department, are favourable and fit for purpose.
  • Conduct supplier technical concept reviews on completion of contracts.
  • Support procurement on vessels, crane and installation and logistics ensuring accuracy of tender documentation and tenders.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of logistics and crane equipment available for the offshore industry in each
  • sales country.
  • Liaise with technical teams to develop logistics and installation solutions to optimise budgets on projects.
  • Lead contract negotiation, closure process and handover of project management to the delivery team.
  • Deliver on KPIs related to adherence of sales project requirements, timely budgets and R&O identification.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering qualification
  • Substantial experience in project or proposal management, ideally with an international OEM.
  • Experience in offshore wind farm project sales, transport, cranes or management is essential.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office/Sharepoint.
  • Strong communication skills in English is essential, both verbally and written.
  • Flexible, self-motivated and organised individual with desire to share knowledge and experiences across the organisation.
  • High personal integrity and ethical standards.
