A leading construction consultancy, is seeking a skilled Delay Analyst at either Consultant or Senior Consultant level to join their London-based team. This is an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of positive commercial solutions and results for a diverse range of clients across the construction industry.
Position Overview
As a Delay Analyst, you will play a crucial role in investigating project delays, preparing delay analyses, and developing programmes for construction projects. Your expertise will contribute to the consultancy's success in providing specialist support and advice to clients in project delivery, commercial management, and dispute resolution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic investigations of project delays
- Prepare prospective and retrospective delay analyses for construction and engineering projects
- Assimilate technical information and evidence of delays for programmes and reports
- Develop and monitor programmes for new construction projects
- Resequence existing programmes to optimise live works
- Prepare written reports for negotiation and dispute resolution processes
- Assist in the preparation or defence of extension of time claims
- Provide 'live' planning assistance independently or with client teams
Requirements
- Relevant construction degree
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a construction project planner within the UK
- Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project)
- Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT)
- Understanding of contract and law in the construction industry, particularly planning and delay
- Excellent team working skills and ability to work autonomously
- Strong written and oral presentation skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances
- Ability to manage multiple commissions
- Excellent knowledge of construction techniques
- Desirable: 5 years' experience as a construction project planner
- Desirable: Detailed understanding of delay analysis methodologies
- Desirable: Membership of an appropriate professional body
- Desirable: Build project experience, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Education, Healthcare
