Job Description
Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Team: Projects
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Responsible for: No employees
2 Job Purpose
Accountable for the consistent and professional execution of identified projects to meet key targets of time, cost, quality and safety, health and environmental as agreed with the customer and senior management. Be a mentor to the Project Management Team ensuring most efficient processes consistently used the Team.
3 Duties and Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Commercial
Ensure that all identified and allocated projects are owned and executed in accordance with our procedures and agreed Customer requirements.
Manage all project commercial matters, including accurate identification, elimination and collection of all costs cost forecasting prompt and comprehensive invoicing, and the achievement of agreed turnover and profit targets.
Manage all project activities ensuring that the contract and services provided are in accordance with the agreed contract.
Promote and achieve good working relationships with customers to assist the process of identifying and winning new work.
Continually seek and identify opportunities for cost savings through innovation and the application of best practice.
Ensure through regular formal (contract review meetings) and informal communications that the Customers expectations are understood and constantly being delivered.
Produce and issue regular monthly reports detailing all aspects of project performance.
Define and execute an appropriate contract and purchasing strategy
Identify and evaluate all technical, commercial and business risks and ensure they understood by the project team and the business.
Oversee the control of the project expenditure and programme within the agreed project budget.
Ensure Design, Procurement, Fabrication, Technical Assembly, Packing and Shipping and installation and commissioning, activities are correctly managed and the project is successfully handed over to the customer.
Lead the Project Review Meetings.
Approve and manage all contract changes and additional expenditure.
Manage the provision of appropriate resources and expertise to successfully deliver the project.
Foster a culture that is focused on teamwork and collective ownership for delivery of the project success criteria.
Manage the closure of the project.
Produce the project closure report and share key learning with the Business.
Ensure best practice is employed throughout the Lifecyle of a project across the Project Management Team.
Be a mentor to the Project Management Team offering support and technical direction as requested. Ensure skills and knowledge across the Project Management Team are developed and deliver a consistent and appropriate approach to the delivery of Capital Projects.
