Job Description

Gorgonzola hosts the Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain, which focuses on avionics, navigation, and radar systems for civil air traffic, as well as technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers, and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies, and Air Force around the world. Italy is the Group’s Competence Center for the design, production, and delivery of Navigation Aids products and for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products. Responsibilities • Participate in an integrated agile engineering team composed of several disciplines such as Cyber, Software, Mechanics, Radio Frequency, Safety, Design, Service, and Manufacturing to develop new products or propose improvements to existing products. • Perform studies and simulations to validate innovating concepts and verify their performance on the real system. • Produce and maintain product System Specifications and the product external interfaces. • Analyze the System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements to determine relevant modifications to the hardware and software. • Support the hardware and software teams in the specifications and the interfaces of the subsystems of the product. • Prepare the integration system by defining the test strategy, writing the test procedure, and conducting integration, verification, and qualification tests. Required Skills and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or Master’s Degree with 4 years’ experience. • Master’s Degree in Engineering in one or several of the following disciplines: Electronic, Digital, Telecom, Mechanical, Radio Frequency. • Experience in system engineering development. • Overall engineering knowledge: Electronic, Software, Telecom, Mechanical, Radio Frequency, and engineering processes. • Good knowledge of standard Office tools (e.g. MS Office). • Team spirit to collectively find the most effective way to reach team objectives. • Capacity to solve complex problems independently or by requesting support and explaining solutions concisely. • Fluent in English and Italian; ability to speak additional languages such as German or French is a benefit. The candidate should: • Have basic knowledge of Navaids equipment such as ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME, ADSB, MLAT, WAM, and in the technical field of air traffic management and the various regulations/standards such as EN, ICAO, or specific local standards. • Be proficient in the use of issue tracking software (e.g. Jira). • Be proficient in the use of requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS). • Be self-motivated, a critical thinker with a strong curiosity to learn. • Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
