Senior Health & Safety Manager
Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an engaging HSE manager to join our team providing first class Health & Safety support for our Data Centres/ projects across Europe. Working as part of a global team you will be responsible for the co-ordination of regional projects aligning our global standards with the local client project requirements. You will be working within a local team as part of a global family where you will be fully supported as we bring you up to speed on this exciting global initiative.
Key Deliverables
The following duties fall within the purview of this role:
* Supports the Project Management teams in the HSE Policy and Guidelines issue.
* Supports the project team in the Organization roles and responsibilities definition, for what concerns safety aspects.
* Supports the project management teams in the HSE Management System standard issue.
* Ensures, in accordance with the corporate/client guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of Pentagon Technical Services HSE Systems.
* Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
* Provides for motivation and familiarization of all client/PTS personnel respecting the importance of complying with project /Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
* Assists the Commercial, and Operations teams in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
* Conducts safety audits both internal and external.
* Takes part in accident / incident investigation.
* Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
* Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders internally and support the client project
Skills & Attributes
* Self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work as a team member (excellent inter-personal skills)
* Highly motivated and results oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
* Health and Safety, Observe safety regulations.
* Conform to local and national laws and guidelines, and reporting
* Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
* Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
* Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
* Leading the establishment of the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
* Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with work performed
* Managing the flow of project information between the team, through regular meetings and written communications
* Communicating with clients throughout the construction process to ensure they are satisfied with the progress of projects
Experience & Education
* Bachelor’s Degree in science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems. Ideal but not essential, but BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
* Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
* 12 or above years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environment and Fire Services in hydrocarbon processing plant, of which 6 years proven should be in a supervisory capacity. Ideal but not essential.
* Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
* Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using Tripod Beta Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques, HEMP, Radiological Safety,
* Industrial Hygiene, and Gas Dispersion, Modelling, Explosion Indices and ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001
