Job Description

Working with a specialist engineering and manufacturing company in Chorley, NRL are looking to recruit a Project Controls Engineer on a permanent basis. This role has some fantastic benefits including a 4 day working week with Fridays off!


The Role:

As the Project Controls Engineer, you will provide a vital role as part of the project team, responsible for supporting the Project Manager to manage project costs, schedule and risk. You will be responsible for the planning, monitoring and control of projects, utilising effective project controls data analysis techniques and reporting methods, including trend analysis and forecasting, to provide insight on project performance, supporting successful project delivery. Responsibilities include:

  • Involvement in tender process, including integration with management and delivery teams, attendance at meetings, participation in risk and opportunities meetings.
  • Establish Work Breakdown Structures and Cost Breakdown Structures in relation to project scope.
  • Create and maintain detailed cost and resource loaded P6 project schedules which are compliant with scope, agreed with all stakeholders and reflective of the plan to deliver.
  • Manage and develop live schedules and baselines throughout the project lifecycle.


You will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • To be a confident user of Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 / 4 contracts.
  • Experience working in a technical / manufacturing environment.
