The opportunity
Due to an increase in project deliverables, our client is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join their highly competent team of pharmaceutical specialists based in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
The role
As the Senior Electrical Designer will work closely with the Multi Discipline Design Team and Project Manager supporting the efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical projects. You will also have the responsibility to support the local projects team through provision of Electrical Engineering, Design and Consulting Services.
£42-48Ltd per hour (Outside of IR35 subject to an IR35 Assessment)
40 hours per week
Hybrid (3 days from site in Macclesfield, Cheshire)
6 months duration + / ongoing
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Review and assess customer needs.
Provide resource estimates for design related activities.
Produce reports, scope of works, concept design and detailed designs(Typically RIBA2-4).
Support effective delivery of projects to time, quality, and cost targets together with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Produce documentation in accordance with defined standards/quality requirements.
Liaise with design and equipment subcontractors.
Lead the improvement of performance by seeking, reviewing and applying, where appropriate, innovative solutions.
Interface with other disciplines such as Mechanical, Process, HVAC and Civil.This position requires significant interface with the client and the companies Installation team to meet these requirements it is recommended that as the Senior Electrical Designer you attend the Macclesfield office 3 days per week.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in a relevant design role including successful delivery of electrical installation designs within projects for the pharmaceutical sector.
HNC or Degree in technical engineering related subject.
Experience of E&I design best practices.
Project life cycle experience (Concept through detail design to construction support).
Knowledge of data and administrative management practices and procedures.
Sound experience and knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
Undertake site surveys.
Possess collaborative skills and experience working in part of a multi-discipline team.
Possess ability to work in a team or alone, comfortable to liaise with client representatives.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Provision of 2D and 3D Design Deliverables, GAs, equipment layouts and cable/containment routing diagrams.
Single line diagrams.
Earthing diagrams.
Experience in electrical building services design including LV Distribution, Lighting, Small Power, Fire Safety Systems, Security Systems, Structured Cabling etc.It's great if you also have the following
Membership of professional Institution or similar body is desirable.
Experience in UK pharmaceutical construction projects is desirable.Software Packages
Auto CADLT.
Relux/ Dialux.
Electrical OM Cable Sizing Software/ Trimble pro-design.
Navisworks.
Revit(Desirable).
