Job description :
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Material Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and issuing project deliverables related to electrical materials. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and issuing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, scope of supply, inspection and test plans, schedules, etc.
- Issuing requisitions for inquiry and purchase in coordination with other operating centers and partners.
- Reviewing compliance of bidder’s proposals and issuing technical bid tabulations.
- Providing technical follow-up on requisitions (quality, schedule, technical compliance, variation orders, etc.).
- Checking or approving deliverables relevant to the scope of requisition.
- Coordinating the execution of purchase orders with the procurement team.
- Commenting on vendor documents.
- Responding to company comments.
- Reviewing the Quality Control Plan (QCP) and test procedures.
- Regularly reporting to the Lead Discipline Engineer and their deputy on deliverables with hold items, blocking technical issues, missing interface data, vendor documentation submission progress and delays, and company comment status.
- Identifying all necessary interfaces, whether internal, external, or inter-discipline, and coordinating with the Lead Discipline Engineer or their deputy.
- Obtaining relevant data from other operating centers, disciplines, and partners to perform deliverables.
- Preparing and assisting with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Providing design engineers with equipment data (from estimated values/preliminary information to final vendor data) required for installation studies and related activities.
- Interfacing with other equipment lead engineers (MV & LV switchgear, ECS, transformers, etc.).
- Identifying and alerting on changes introduced by the company or any other parties.
- Populating the Smartplant Electrical Database with all required vendor data.
Qualifications :
Experience :
- 7 years and more in electrical equipment design in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience in technical follow-up of a vendor, including reporting, vendor planning analysis with identification of milestones, vendor progress follow-up, and the ability to anticipate remediation in case of delays (from both parties, vendor and contractor).
Skills :
- Knowledge of engineering workflow.
- Knowledge of IEC standards.
- Fluent in English (writing technical documents, minutes of meetings, interfacing with partners/clients, verbal communication through audio conference meetings).
- Good communication skills to manage interfaces with other members of the electrical team and other disciplines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL).
