BMO Capital Markets is a leading, full-service financial services provider. We offer corporate and investment banking, treasury management, as well as research and advisory services to clients around the world.
The Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Origination and Syndicate team covers financial institutions (FIG), as well as sovereigns, supranationals and agencies (SSA) globally, providing debt advisory services to clients issuing across currencies. We are currently searching for an analyst or associate based in our Paris office.
Description
As an Analyst / Associate, the successful candidate will join BMO’s expanding new issue platform and support senior members based across London, Paris, New York and Toronto. The individual will assist the team with the execution of new issue transactions and associated tasks, market analysis and preparation of client materials. This role offers the opportunity to interact with external issuers / counterparties and coordinate with our sales, trading, derivatives, middle office and global new issue teams.
Tasks include:
- Syndicate support on new issue transactions (deal preparation, reconciliation of orderbooks, ensuring the life cycle of the transaction from new issue to settlement is processed smoothly).
- execution support of new bond issues and private placements;
- Origination support in providing regular pricing and market updates to clients;
- conducting market data analysis;
- preparation of presentation materials;
- coordination with sales, trading and middle office functions on various tasks.
Experience/Skills
A combination of technical knowledge and skills in the capital markets demonstrated through relevant work or educational experience is required. Prior experience in DCM Origination and/or Syndicate is preferred. Candidates should have a clear and proven track record of achievement throughout their education and career.

- A keen interest capital markets and enhanced knowledge of fixed income
- Superior verbal communication skills and very strong writing skills
- Intellectual curiosity, the ability to learn quickly, and strong attention to detail
- Superior work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Ability to systematically manage a heavy work load and meet stringent deadlines
- Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours
- Solid technology skills with robust knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg
