Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, who specialise with the Energy from Waste (EfW) industry, to recruit for a Mechanical Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station near Bicester, Oxfordshire.
The vital Mechanical Technician role comes with a basic salary of £45,774 + partial shift allowance of £2,217 + Location living allowance of £2,654 + Overtime + Call out payments + up to 10% Bonus + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets including steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air systems, etc.
Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
To ensure compliance with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements
Assisting in plant developments and projects
Supervising and setting to work on site contractors
Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination
To ensure the availability of plant spares
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Mechanical Technician role would suit someone who has:
Hands on maintenance experience with mechanical systems including, boilers, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, cranes etc
Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.
Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
