We are exclusively working alongside a leading General/Main Contractor within the datacentre world, delivering mission critical schemes from £50million to €450million in value.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to oversee the construction of a state-of-the-art data centre facility. The Project Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, from initial planning and budgeting to execution and delivery. This is a critical leadership role that requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of data centre construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure alignment with company goals.
Budgeting and Cost Management: Prepare detailed project budgets and forecasts, tracking expenses and managing costs throughout the construction process. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and strategies to optimize project efficiency.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Select and manage external vendors, contractors, and subcontractors involved in the construction project. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual agreements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project delivery, developing proactive mitigation plans to address issues as they arise. Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, milestones, and key metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards throughout the construction process. Coordinate with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Quality Assurance and Control: Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of construction quality and reliability in the data centre facility. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with design specifications and performance requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (10+ years) in project management, with a focus on large-scale construction projects, preferably in the data centre industry.
Strong technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power systems, cooling systems, and networking equipment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and complex projects from inception to completion.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar applications.
PMP or other relevant project management certifications preferred.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.
