Software Test Engineer
Location: Chippenham
Contract: 6 months (initial)
Rate: £425 - £500/day
IR35: Outside IR35
We’re looking for a meticulous Software Test Engineer to design, develop, and run system, software, and component tests based on requirements and design documentation. This role involves automating tests, performing performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while working closely with development teams to guarantee product quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute detailed system, software, and component tests.
* Conduct code coverage and performance assessments.
* Maintain traceability matrices to link requirements to design and test cases.
* Document test results and issues using the required tools.
* Perform Application User Interface testing.
* Ensure compliance with CENELEC and UK rail standards.
Essential Skills:
* Strong knowledge of C#, Gherkin, and unit testing.
* Experience with unit, automation, system integration, and performance testing.
* Proficient in testing across multiple interfaced applications and creating data for tests.
* Knowledge of configuration management and control.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in safety-related software testing.
* Familiarity with C++, Specflow, Test-Driven Development, Polarion.
* Knowledge of CENELEC 50128 and source control systems.
