About Us

​At Applied Microbiology International we fundamentally believe that global challenges need to be solved by global, interdisciplinary experts. We are the oldest microbiology society in the UK and, with more than half of our membership outside the UK, we are truly global, serving microbiologists based in universities, private industry, and research institutes around the world. We publish an industry-leading magazine, The Microbiologist, and in partnership with Oxford University Press, we publish three internationally acclaimed journals.

About You

The post-holder will elevate the visibility and impact of Applied Microbiology International and AMI Journals through the strategic planning and execution of diverse events tailored to meet the needs of various stakeholders and audiences. Tasked with ensuring a seamless, professional, and engaging experience for all delegates, the Events Manager will effectively coordinate across departments, collaborate with external partners, and consult with AMI global ambassadors. Their role is critical in providing comprehensive event support and enhancing participation.

Candidates will be willing to work extended hours as needed to meet event demands, with flexibility compensated through time off in lieu.
