Job Title: Finance Director Central Europe
What is the purpose of this role?In our ambition to gain share and create value, this position will play a critical role in providing financial insight, leadership and decision support for the respective Cluster, in line with the business segment strategy.
As a member of the leadership team, the Cluster Finance Director works closely with the Cluster General Manager and Country Sales/Market Directors, actively driving the execution of Pet Nutrition’s strategic priorities across all countries within the cluster and constructively challenging the organization on performance, execution and resource allocation.
It is critical that this position motivates a team of associates to ensure value creating mindset and agile & digital working environment. The role will also be responsible for building a high performance collaboration environment and drive engagement within the team. It is also expected that this position will develop a team of business partners to influence the organization to deliver the business targets.
What will be your key responsibilities?- S&F business partner for the Cluster markets – as such, supporting in all aspects of financial performance for the respective NSV, including insights generation from period performance, YEE forecast, and gap closing.
- Partner with Cluster GM on revenue and all local costs such as Promotions and local Overheads.
- Partner with regional Finance VP as well as Regional S&F team to ensure overall OE (Operating Entity) business delivery
- Consolidation and analysis of all relevant information for decision making to achieve business financial targets.
- Provide insights to support the delivery of growth in the market through supporting the sales strategy definition and achieving targets set within operational plan/3 yrs value creation plan.
- Develop strategic partnership with the sales team through focus on understanding the competitive/market landscape, uncover opportunities for growth and further understand the customer environment.
- Partner with SRM and the local organization to support and roll out ROI models and best practices to evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities and ideal pricing strategy to drive value creation.
- Initiate, lead, and manage projects which will improve current business processes and deliver against strategy.
- Establish and drive digital tools/reporting and a value creation mindset within the local Sales/channel organization.
- Ensure adherence to all corporate policies and guidelines pertaining to the Mars controls environment by partnering with Controllership & ICTC (e.g. supporting internal and external audits
- 10+ years business experience, including financial analysis and internal control, from FMCG/CPG business
- 3 years of trade management and pricing strategy experience
- Direct line management experience is required
- Strong analytical capabilities and in-depth understanding of business/financial interrelationships between sales strategies, pricing, volumes, and cost structure. Understanding of basic internal financial measures such as Cash and Earnings.
- Cost Accounting and Budget Management - understanding of Mars, Incorporated internal cost structures and practices. Understand the relationship between different costs and cost drivers. Ability to drive cross-functional teams to deliver cost reduction programs.
- Analysis and Evaluation of Business Activities - Advanced expertise in the areas of Competitor Analysis and Benchmarking, Trend Analysis/Modeling and Evaluation, and Scorecards/Metrics.
- Accounting - U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, applicable local government regulations, and processing systems to meet business reporting requirements to provide timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
- Financial Control - The knowledge and application of business processes, internal control concepts and practices, and auditing techniques to ensure cost effective protection of business assets and approval of business activities at the appropriate level in the organization
- Drive for results, ability of building effective Teams, strategic mindset, managing complexity & balancing Stakeholders skills
- As part of multinational Leadership Team, fluency in English is a must (min. C1 level)
