ArcelorMittal Europe - Flat Products has launched a multi-year plan to phase out its mainframe systems and to modernize the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) applications, deploying a market solution "PSIMetals", across several plants in Europe.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Application Manager to join our dynamic D&IT (Digitalization & IT) Manufacturing/Maintenance/Quality department, in the MES CoE (Centre of Excellence) team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our MES applications.
She/he will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of one of ArcelorMittal's most important applications to conduct daily business.
Acting as an application administrator, he will be MES CoE single point of contact in front of other IT departments (Infrastructure, network...), targeting system's reliability according to Group's standards.
What does the job entail?- Define the strategy for the connection of the Flat Europe systems with the MES PSIMetals, in the frame of the set-up of a template for the FE-Mills. This based on the preparation work done in the frame of the Scale-Up project and the common language for Flat Europe.
- For the sites of Flat Europe not keeping their legacy Product Dressing, include also this scope in the projects, in close cooperationship with the architect in charge of the Product Dressing.
- Ensure the adoption of the template and safeguard it from any non-justified deviation, advising the sites and ensuring: this will rely on the common language FE prepared by the CTO experts.
- In a later phase, extend knowledge to support such implementations in other clusters Flat Europe and in Longs Europe as well.
- Additional perimeter: define high level architecture for the Scale-Up Quality program.
- Coordinate the team of functional architects working on MES (Product Dressing, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Material Management,...). Define the methods and tools to be used by architects, as well as documentation to be managed.
- The function will be performed in a team "CoE MES PSIMetals", with other internal experts and support of PSI. The team is in the perimeter of the FE D&IT Quality/Manufacturing organization.
- Management: besides the hierarchical management of the architects (team 5 to 7 persons), mainly horizontal collaboration with mills, PSI and AMDC. Also, a lot of interactions with technical experts of CTO Finishing.
- Location: regular trips to the mills where implementation will be done (consider 1 or 2 days max a week). Nevertheless, virtual team concept is applied, and a lot of the tasks will be done remotely.
- Master's degree in engineering and/or experience in IT Architecture in several domains (SCM, Quality, Production).
- Experience in Steel Industry of 5-10 years is a must.
- Knowledge of main business processes.
- Ability to translate business needs in rules concepts.
- Good communication skills, to train Architects and experts to become autonomous.
- User oriented.
- Team spirit, Good Analytical skills, abstract thinking, empathy.
- Ability to make proposals related to process and/or continuous improvement plan.
- Ability to synthetize complex situations to ease decision making by management.
- Ability to interact/manage transversally, in remote teams, with external partners.
- French / Spanish / German could help to ease discussions with mills people.
- Must be self-motivated, highly responsible, and service oriented.
