ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Descartes Underwriting is seeking an Actuary Officer to join our Risk management & Actuarial Team. In close and effective cooperation with all business units and play a vital role in the deployment of Solvency 2 production and reports.


Your responsibilities would deal with :


SOLVENCY 2

Pillar I :

  • Calculate SCR using a standard formula;
  • Maintain tools for prudential calculation and closing production (ie. SCR, EOF, QRT, ...).

Pillar II:

  • Contribute to Solvency II prudential reports;
  • Ensure that the solvency assessment takes into account the specific riskprofile of the company;
  • Contribute to any additional ACPR requests (figures, tests etc).

Pillar III:

  • Contribute to the production of all reporting data required to the regulators (QRT);
  • Handle internal reporting.


CALCULATION OF TECHNICAL PROVISIONS

  • Ensure the relevance of the methodologies and underlying models used and the assumptions made in the calculation process, assess the sufficiency and quality of data used in the calculation of technical provisions, assess the reliability and adequacy of the calculation of technical provisions and compare best estimates against experience etc;
  • Contribute to the actuarial report.

ABOUT YOU


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • From 2 to 5 years' relevant experience in non-life actuarial ;
  • Master's degree in Actuarial from actuarial schools;
  • Strong ability to draft technical and quantitative reports;
  • Strong knowledge in Solvency 2.

SKILLS

  • Fluency in English and French is required (written and spoken);
  • Eye for quality, autonomous and attention to detail;
  • Exercise rigor and organizational skills.
