About the role

As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll be at the core of their data ecosystem, building reliable data pipelines, transforming data for easy analysis, and ensuring quality data is at the fingertips of stakeholders across the business.

Your work will enable data-driven decision-making, optimise product performance, and contribute to a data culture across the business.

We’re searching for someone who thrives in a fast-growth, high-ownership startup environment and is motivated to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimise, and maintain complex data models with a focus on accessibility and scalability, using tools like DBT (Data Build Tool)
  • Ensure consistent and reliable data by building robust ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, orchestrating and automating data workflows
  • Utilise Kimball dimensional modelling methodologies to design data models that serve analytical use cases and provide a single source of truth for critical business metrics
  • Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and business analysts to understand data needs, answer key questions, and implement data-driven solutions
  • Implement data governance best practices and ensure that data is well-documented, tested, and in compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data infrastructure, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance data accessibility for the team

About You

As this is one of the first hires within the analytics department of a highly ambitious startup, we’re looking for a candidate who can provide measurable examples of impact within a startup environment.

Experience

  • 3+ years as an Analytics Engineer, or a similar role in a fast-growth startup environment, ideally within the FinTech industry
  • Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and Airflow. Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Deep understanding of Kimball dimensional modelling and experience in building data models that support analytical use cases.
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data workflows, with a focus on automation and quality control.
  • Ability to translate business questions into data solutions. You are outcome-focused and understand the value of data in driving business impact.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

This is a brilliant opportunity for a motivated Analytics Engineer to join a fast-growth FinTech at an early stage of growth and rapidly progress their career. If this sounds like you, please apply with an up-to-date CV!
