Linux Systems Administrator - HPC/VDI

Role : Linux Systems Administrator (HPCVDI) Location : Bangalore Experience : 8 to 10 Yrs Employment Type : Full Time, Permanent Working mode : Regular Notice Period : Immediate - 15 Days Responsibilities : - Manage Linux setups, including OS, networking, storage, and security measures. - Administer and maintain HPC/Linux clusters on VMware configurations. - Diagnose and resolve system issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime. - Restore system integrity following outages to minimize downtime. - Address user-submitted tickets related to the infrastructure. - Monitor resource usage and track performance metrics. - Contribute to knowledge management by creating technical documents. - Apply system firmware and software patches as needed. - Collaborate with peers to share knowledge and expertise. Qualifications : - 8 years of experience in managing Linux systems. - 4 years of experience with HPC/Linux clusters. - Expertise with Linux system administration, including OS, networking, storage, and security. - Proficiency with high-speed networking technologies like InfiniBand and 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet. - Experience with high-speed file transfer tools like File Catalyst. - Familiarity with large storage systems. - Scripting language experience (e.g., Bash, Python). - Proven expertise in Hypervisor technology. - Knowledge of Horizon (preferred). - Experience with Linux clusters. - Troubleshooting skills for ESXi and vCenter performance issues. - Understanding of Virtual Machine snapshots and VMware VDP. - Familiarity with VMware Site Recovery Manager for disaster recovery. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to collaborate with different technology teams within HPE. - Commitment to achieving HPE's vision for customers. - Understanding of HPE's support processes. - Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment in rotation shifts. - Customer-focused attitude with a drive to resolve issues and provide comprehensive case summaries. - Demonstrated high levels of technical and communication skills. - Takes ownership of problems and drives them to resolution.
