Java Developer - Kubernetes/Kafka

Currently, we are hiring for a client who seeks a skilled Java Developer with expertise in Kubernetes and Kafka technologies to strengthen their development team. Job Summary : As a Java Developer with Kubernetes and Kafka experience, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing applications to meet complex business and technical requirements. You will play a critical role in implementing Kubernetes and Service Mesh solutions to ensure seamless application deployment, scalability, and reliability. Roles & Responsibilities : - Build and implement software solutions that go beyond conventional approaches to solve technical problems. - Design and maintain high-quality, secure production code. - Implement algorithms that run synchronously with relevant systems. - Develop architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met. - Participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality and best practices. - Provide out-of-hours application support to ensure smooth system performance. - Coordinate production releases, ensuring proper deployment and stability of the application. - Identify and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments. Required Skills : - Proficient in one or more object-oriented languages, particularly Java 17 (with Spring Boot) in multi-threaded applications. - Experience with distributed caches and data grids like Gemfire, Hazelcast, Redis, or Valkey to manage and store large data sets. - Expertise in designing schemas and data structures for modern relational databases, particularly CockroachDB. - Proficiency in using Docker for containerization and experience running workloads on Kubernetes in production. - Solid understanding and hands-on experience with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. Preferred Skills : - Experience in designing low-latency, thread-safe, and concurrent code, particularly in Java or another JVM-based language. - Familiarity with big data technologies, including MapReduce and real-time data analytics. - Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Google Protocol Buffers, Apache Avro, and Parquet. - Experience with gRPC or RSocket for efficient communication in distributed systems. - Hands-on experience with other programming languages like C++, Rust, or Golang is a plus. - Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, for managing unstructured data. - Certified knowledge of Kubernetes (i.e., CKAD) and cloud technologies (i.e., Terraform, AWS certifications) is highly preferred.
