DevOps Engineer - OpenShift

About the Role : This role is a crucial technical role for rolling out 'DIGIT' based solutions across the globe in the mission of "Solving for Billions" and provisioning for delivery of services for citizens across the countries and continents. The role will involve planning, sizing, deployment, and management of the cloud and data center-based infrastructures in collaboration with technical and program partners across the globe. We are seeking motivated and talented DevOps professionals with a passion for delivering social impact through world-class technology solutions. - Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters (Kubespray or OpenShift) inprivate and public clouds. - Plan, design, and install data center infrastructure (servers, storage systems, network equipment, cooling systems). - Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center operations. - Conduct regular inspections, and maintenance, and perform hardware/software upgrades and patches. - Monitor data center performance using tools to track metrics and identify issues - Create and maintain virtual machines using VMware ESXi or OpenStack. - Manage infrastructure in private clouds, data centers, or bare-metal environments. - Set up OpenShift environments on virtual machines created using VMware ESXi or OpenStack. - Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. - Automate testing, deployment, and monitoring processes for continuous integration and delivery. - Implement and manage monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana. - Set up alerts and dashboards for proactive system performance monitoring. - Manage and optimize Elasticsearch clusters for high performance and reliability. - Use Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and management. - Maintain and improve infrastructure automation scripts. - Deploy, configure, and maintain Kafka for real-time data streaming. - Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and system operation. - Provide support for application deployments and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments. Required Skills and Qualifications : - 3 to 5 years of experience in DevOps, with expertise in OpenShift or Kubernetes deployment on private cloud or on-premise servers. - Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience with OpenShift deployment on a private cloud is a plus. - Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and cooling systems. - Proficiency in data center management tools and monitoring software. - Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) (ref:hirist.tech)
