Database Administration Lead - SQL Server

Job Description : We are seeking an experienced MSSQL DBA Lead to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, particularly in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, and a proven track record of maintaining high availability and performance for critical databases. Key Responsibilities : - Database Management : Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. - GCP Expertise : Leverage Google Cloud Platform services to deploy, manage, and optimize SQL databases in a cloud environment. - Performance Tuning : Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database queries, indexes, and configurations to improve system efficiency. - Backup and Recovery : Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity. - Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Monitor database performance and proactively address any issues or bottlenecks. Utilize monitoring tools to analyze performance metrics and logs. - Collaboration : Work closely with development teams to support application development and ensure seamless integration with database systems. - Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance. - Team Leadership : Mentor and guide junior DBA team members, fostering a collaborative environment and sharing best practices in database management. Requirements : - Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Experience : 4 to 9 years of experience as an MSSQL DBA, with a strong focus on GCP environments. Skills : - Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database management and administration. - Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery processes. - Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and experience with GCP services. - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
