Job Description

Role: Animation and Rigging Artist Job Description Role & responsibilities : - Create high-quality character animations and rigs for use in Unreal Engine 5. - Work closely with the design and development teams to ensure animations meet project requirements and are seamlessly integrated into the game engine. - Develop and maintain character rigs, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and flexible for animators. - Utilize Autodesk Maya for animation and rigging tasks, with optional use of Houdini and Blender. - Implement and optimize Meta Human interactions and animations within Unreal Engine 5. - Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and solve animation-related issues. - Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure we are using the most effective tools and techniques. - Create and maintain animation blueprints in Unreal Engine 5 to drive character animations. - Storyboarding: Translating written scripts or story outlines into visual representations, creating a sequence of images or frames to plan the animation - Character Design: Creating and designing characters, including their appearance, movement, and expressions, to fit the animation's narrative and style - Background Art: Designing and creating the background elements or settings that complement the animation's storyline - Animation Techniques: Using various animation techniques, such as traditional hand-drawn animation, digital vector-based animation, or a combination of both - Frame-by-Frame Animation: Creating individual frames to simulate motion, often requiring precision and attention to detail - Digital Tools: Proficiency in animation software and tools like Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, or similar programs to create and edit animations Requirements : - Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 with a strong understanding of its animation and rigging workflows. - Extensive experience with Autodesk Maya for animation and rigging. - Familiarity with Blender for animation tasks. - Experience with Houdini is a plus but not mandatory. - Strong understanding of character animation principles and techniques. - Experience with Meta Human animations and interactions in Unreal Engine. - Ability to create and work with animation blueprints in Unreal Engine 5. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - A portfolio showcasing previous animation and rigging work, particularly within Unreal Engine (ref:hirist.tech)
