Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities: The Spaceopal (SPO) Satellite Operations Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team and therefore disciplinary reporting to the Technical Director. Main duties are in the context of the Galileo Flight Control. Namely: Support the GCS Backup Operations activities following tasks, plans and procedures planned on purpose Support backup monthly satellites contact management from GCC-I Support GCS-I segment operations rehearsal. Support the GSOP Service Continuity plan Development of the both nominal and contingency flight procedures Validation of all operational products (Procedures and database) Participation to simulation and refresh training sessions Provide on-call support to guarantee on-site intervention in case of GCS operations unplanned handover Provide on shift support at GCC-I in case of GCS operations unplanned handover Support analysis and investigation of operational events and anomalies related to the satellite segment elements Support System Validation Tests with the satellite on ground Contribute to operations reports Contribution to project deliverables Required Qualification and Experience: To be eligible, a candidate must: Hold a degree in Telecommunications/Electronics/Informatics/Aerospace Engineering with at least 2 years of work experience. Alternatively, 5 years related work experience. Have a technical background on satellites engineering and operations and on Satellite Navigation. Experience in the Galileo program preferable. The job requires also: Strong problem-solving skills Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work Hands-on mentality and systematic, self-organized, able to prioritize way of working Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of Italian and/or German also appreciated Fluency in standard office automation tools (MS Office, Email, Internet, etc.) Work location: GCC-I (Fucino, Italy) It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany) and/or at the Spaceopal Headquarter (Munich, Germany).
