Posting Date: 23 Oct 2024 City: Genova Location: Genova, IT, 16128 Roma, IT, 144 Contract Type: Permanent Division: Global Strategic Initiatives Level of experience: Senior RINA is currently recruiting for a Innovation Manager to join its office in Genoa or Florence, Italy within the Global Strategic Initiatives Division. Mission Drive sustainable growth and innovation within the company by identifying, evaluating, and implementing strategies that mitigate climate risks and leverage emerging trends. The role bridges external innovation ecosystems and internal stakeholders, supporting the company's transformation toward more sustainable practices. Through startup scouting, investment analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, the consultant will develop solutions that align with corporate goals, enhance resilience to environmental disruptions, and ensure long-term business success in a changing global landscape. Key Accountabilities The resource will: Analyse financial reports and identify and evaluate new business models Prepare reports for company management and top leadership Interface with VC investment Funds analysing financial aspects of corporate investments Represent a bridge between external partners and an innovative ecosystem and internal key stakeholders and leadership Identify market trends and customer needs to transfer these into innovations and business opportunities to be integrated into the company Research, visualise and validate ideas, developing implementation strategies within the company processes. Support the executive management board in developing, sharpening and implementing our growth strategy through interaction and integration of new technologies Dialogue and create strategic connections with business units and related stakeholders, identifying business needs and trends. Conduct workshop sessions and set up critical processes to collect and evaluate ideas and crucial support from all levels of the organisation. Manage startup scouting to propose new partnerships and investments, conducting company analysis, pre-due diligence and due diligence involving and cooperating with business units. Deliver startup engagement (access to market, access to finance, coaching and mentoring) cross-matching with corporate goals to generate sustainable revenues for the corporate Engage with innovation ecosystems: developing company strategic goals by engaging relevant stakeholders from the local and international innovation ecosystem, e.g. research institutions, trade organisations, accelerators, and national and regional business support organisations. Scan the environment for emerging trends, technologies and potential disruptions, interacting with start-ups’ founders, Investment Funds, Accelerators and Incubators. Select the potential targets, identifying the critical risks associated with the investment and developing a risk mitigation plan with company management as part of a potential investment. Cooperate with the M&A team, finance and legal functions to conduct and finalise the DD process, determine the deal's viability, and review the management team, market potential, the product or service (and the need it meets) and the business model. Operate with creativity and business acumen, driving initiatives that cultivate an innovation-friendly culture, and streamlining the execution of new ideas. Support the further development of our network by organising and participating in innovation events. Education Master’s Degree in Economics or Engineering General Qualifications Proven experience in the innovation ecosystem (VC, investment funds, CVC, corporates, etc.) A purpose-driven mindset to gradually take ownership of projects Intercept business models and capacity to develop business for both startups and established companies Innovative and creative approach, enthusiasm and assertiveness Interest in trends and innovations, as well as an affinity for new technologies Creative thinking and risk-taking within the organization. International and multidimensional environments work experience Significant experience in transversal roles, interacting with people from multiple backgrounds J-18808-Ljbffr
